藤原ヒロシは、自分はもう音楽でお金を稼ぐつもりはなく、純粋に音楽を楽しめればいい。昔は楽しんで音楽をやっていた人たちはそれによってそんなに儲かっていたわけではない。音楽はこれからそういうところに還っていくのではないか――というようなことを話している。

小西康陽はさらに具体的で――、あと何年かでCDはなくなり、メジャーのレコード会社もなくなる。上手い人の演奏を録音したソフトをありがたく聴くという娯楽のかたちは20世紀のものだと言っている。

曽我部恵一は、もうアルバム作品だけではすべては伝わらない。いまロックが影響力を持とうとすれば、活動の形態やライフスタイルまですべて含めた表現として取り組まないとだめだ――という意味のことを話している。初めて目にするような意見ではないけれども、この人たちが、しかも同じ特集内で同時に口にすると、ずいぶんリアリティがある。
